Reversibly self‐assembled pH‐responsive PEG‐p(CL‐g‐TMC) polymersomes

Polymersomes have gained much interest within the biomedical field as drug delivery systems due to their ability transport and protect cargo from harsh environment inside body. For an improved efficacy, control over release is however also important factor take into account. An often employed method incorporate pH sensitive groups in vesicle membrane, which induce disassembly content when particles reached a target site body with appropriate pH, such acidic microenvironment of tumor tissue or endosome. In this paper, biodegradable poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(caprolactone-gradient-trimethylene carbonate)-based polymeric vesicles been developed features at mild conditions. Modifying polymer backbone imidazole moieties results upon protonation lowered pH. Furthermore, increasing efficient re-assembly observed switchable amphiphilic nature polymer. When process conducted presence cargo, enhanced encapsulation achieved. potency system for future applications adjuvant demonstrated.
